					<description>Bill, that's a good point.  But, yes, I do believe the word &quot;peace&quot; must be used in the wider sense -- it means more than the absence of war.  Anybody who exerts great effort for international humanitarian causes can be said to be working for global peace, as far as I can see.

About Jimmy Carter, by the way, I know about his homebuilding, but it seems to me the Carter Center is specifically dedicated to international affairs.</description>

Unless you figure they may achieve peace as a biproduct of their activities. Bono is trying to fight AIDS and starvation, which is an excellent goal.  Jimmy Carter is helping to provide homes for people; another great pursuit. But who is actually working on peace?</description>
